György Fehér (1939 – 2002)
Born in 1939 in Budapest, Hungary, he made only two full-length feature films, yet he wrote his name into the history of Hungarian film as one of the modern innovators of film language. By the time he could work on Twilight in 1990, he had already participated in making more than 50 television films as scriptwriter, cameraman and director. He was also the mentor of his fellow Bulgarian filmmaker Béla Tarr but has always remained in the shadows of the master.
