Haunted by the suspicious death of his ailing mother, Ali, a university professor coerces his enigmatic gardener to execute a cold-blooded act of vengeance. Alireza Khatami

Alireza Khatami was born into the indigenous Khamse tribe in southeast Iran. After working as an assistant director alongside esteemed filmmakers, such as Asghar Farhadi, he directed in 2017 his debut feature, Oblivion Verses, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival and won multiple awards, including the FIPRESCI prize. His second film, Terrestrial Verses, co-directed with Ali Asgari, premiered in the Un Certain Regard section of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. The Things You Kill is his third feature.
