Takashi Miike
Born in the Osaka region, Takashi Miike began his career as an assistant director to Shōhei Imamura before going on to make his own films. His body of work now includes more than fifty feature films, as well as stage plays, TV movies, and series. A prolific and provocative filmmaker, he is known for a universe where violence, absurdity, and the fantastical break free from convention, transgressing countless taboos.
