Christian SWEGAL

Struggling single father Jerry indoctrinates his son Joe into the Sovereign Citizen movement. As Jerry’s ideology consumes them, they are set on a collision course with a police chief who has spent his life upholding the rules that Jerry has spent his tearing down.

Christian Swegal

Graduated from the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Christian Swegal has worked in both film and television. He co-wrote in 2018 the feature film Proud Mary, directed by Babak Najafi, and wrote the pilot for Solar, a series he created for Syfy Channel. In 2019, he contributed to the development of the series Fordlandia for director Werner Herzog. Inspired by true events, Sovereign is his feature debut.
