Philippe Van Leeuw
Born in 1954 in Belgium, he made his debut as a cinematographer, then directed his first feature film in 2009, The Day God Walked Away, which won several awards, including Best New Director at the San Sebastián Film Festival. His second feature, In Syria, premiered at the Berlinale in 2017, where it won the Panorama Audience Award. The film also won six Magritte awards – the Belgium Oscars -, including those for Best Film and Best Director. The Wall is his third feature film.
