Growing Down

Bálint Dániel SÓS

Sándor, a widowed father of two, is tested by fate when he becomes the only witness of a serious accident involving his stepdaughter caused by his youngest son. He has to decide between accepting the consequences of speaking the truth, or lying to keep his boy out of juvenile detention.

Bálint Dániel Sós

After earning a master’s degree in cinematography from the University of Theatre and Film Arts, Budapest (SZFE), Hungarian writer-director Bálint Dániel Sós began his career in advertising. In 2014, he co-founded Kinopravda, a directors’ collective that went on to become a major presence on the international advertising scene. Alongside his commercial work, he continued writing short stories, two of which he later adapted into short films: Grand Prix (2017) and Creamy (2023). Growing Down marks his feature debut.
