After two years studying philosophy alongside training at the Strasbourg Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, Rachel Lang went on to attend the Institut des Arts de Diffusion in Belgium. A reserve captain in the French Army, she graduated from the École supérieure des officiers de réserve, specializing in staff training. Following two short films about coming of age, she directed her first feature on the same theme, Baden Baden, which premiered at the 2016 Berlinale. In 2021, Our Men closed the Directors’ Fortnight. Mata is her third feature film.
