Michael Noer
Born in 1978 in Denmark, he graduated from the National Film School, then directed three award-winning documentaries. His feature debut, the prison drama R co-directed with Tobias Lindholm, won top awards at Göteborg. His second film Norhtwest won the Jury Prize and Critics’ Prize at the 2013 Beaune Thriller Film Festival. In 2017, he made a remake of the classic film Papillon, the story of a prisoner’s escape attempt in Guyana. Birthday Girl is his sixth feature film.
