In response to persistent requests from his former colleague Christian Habersaat, detective Carl Mørck sends Rose, his young Department V partner, to the Danish Island of Bornholm to investigate an old case (a young girl found dead on the branch of a tree). Carl, his team-mate Assad, and Rose find themselves involved in what looks like a murder, with connections to the local police, the islanders Carl once knew well, and members of a sun-worshipping community in search of the most spiritual happiness…

Ole Christian Madsen

Born in 1966 in Roskilde, Denmark, he graduated in direction from the National Film School. After his feature film debut with Pizza King (1999), he directed the acclaimed historical mini-series The Spider (2000). Since then he has made such award-winning feature films as Kira’s Reason: A Love Story (2001), presented at Toronto, SuperClásico (2011), the Danish entry at the 84^th Academy Awards, and most recently Itsi Bitsi (2014). He also directed the US action series Banshee (2013-2016).
