Peter Yates
(1929 – 2011)

He started his career as an assistant director. He made his feature debut with the musical Summer Holiday in 1963. His filmography is very diverse, including romance (John & Mary, 1969), war (Murphy’s War, 1971), action film (The Deep, 1977) or thrillers (Bullitt, 1968, Breaking Away, 1972, Eyewitness, 1981…).
